Yesterday the GSPCA team were joined by 5 volunteers from  Northern Trust who gave up a day in the office to help the team paint, decorate and other work at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.

Over the last two years 128 hands from Northern Trust have helped out at the GSPCA, with 38 staff helping last year and a further 26 helping in 2015.

The 5 that came along yesterday arrived just before 9am where they had a quick induction with GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne before they were set to work around site.

The Northern Trust team then met a few kittens whilst clean and tidy for a photo in the multi purpose animal welfare building.

They were then shown a number of areas and got to work.  From painting parts of the new build to the hedgehog unit the hard work and time was much appreciated by all at the GSPCA. One of their team helped with admin duties and even stocked up our veg hedge stall which helps raise funds for the many animals in our care.

Those that helped were Steve Page, Sean Baker, Scott de la Mare, Maria de Jersey and Katrina Sarre.

Before the group left they had a behind the scenes tour and all got a thank you certificate.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "The staff from Northern Trust are truly amazing and we really appreciate their support and help."

"Once again all of the team at the GSPCA really enjoyed the Northern Trust staff helping out and we are extremely grateful for all of their help."

"Over the last two years we have seen 128 hands come to help from Northern Trust with 36 staff helping last year and a further 26 coming along this year."

"We are so lucky to have caring businesses in Guernsey like Northern Trust that allow their staff to help in the community."

"We always love to hear from businesses that would like to help us help the animals and community of Guernsey and there are many ways getting involved from CSR programmes to sponsoring animals in our care."

"We can even run bespoke events such as guided tours for your team and their families."

"Our biggest day of the year is coming up and maybe staff from you team would like to dress up as a giant animal for our Mascot Race at our Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday."

"From all at the GSPCA a huge thank you to all at Northern Trust."
