On Saturday 18th August while many volunteers were busy collecting at flag day locations around Guernsey a team were at Saumarez Park at the wonderful Donkey Derby.
A huge thanks to the Lions Club of Guernsey for the kind invite to what has to have been one of the busiest Donkey Derby’s we have seen.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We had such a busy Donkey Derby on the 18th August and a huge thanks to all that helped on the stall, supported us and to the Lion Club of Guernsey for putting on such a great event.”
“Bernard the GSPCA Mascot took part for the second year in the Animal Mascot Race which this year was won by the Lion Club of Guernsey’s Mascot and our Bernard came third in a well run race.
“We currently have 3 events we are looking for helpers to volunteer this month those being selling raffle tickets at Le Friquet Garden Centre on Saturday 9th September, our flag day at Alliance on Saturday 29th September and at the Peter Rabbit event at Beau Cinema on Sunday 30th September and if anyone can help please call 257261 or email [email protected] .”
“If anyone is looking to help volunteer at the GSPCA this Monday at 630pm we have the next induction evening and all are welcome.”
