Earlier today we were all very excited with a possible report of Bertie out in the day in a garden, but sadly it wasn't him and the dog that it turned out to be is soon to be back with its owner.

Despite staff, volunteers and the wonderful public who are watching out for Bertie we have not had a firm report in the last 36 hours, although there was a possible sighting at Barras Lane in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Most recent sightings have been around the Grandes Rocque area and near St Sampson's High School.

The sightings appear to be late at night or early hours of the morning and with nervous dogs that are stray this can often be the case.

We continue to work closely with Clive and Lynn McMinn to help in the search of their dog Bertie and we all appreciate the wonderful public support.

Again we would like to highlight that Bertie is a very timid little lad, especially with men and people he doesn't know.

If you do spot him then please call us at the GSPCA on 01481 257261

Please do not approach or try to catch him as it is likely to scare him away and not help with his safe capture.

If he is in a secure area where you can close a gate or door then please do so and give us a call at the Shelter.

With all reports the time, location and direction of movement is extremely important.

If you are able to get a picture or video clip this would also help.

At the GSPCA we have team members at the end of a phone and manning our ambulance 24 hours a day.

We have had a number of suggestions to help with his capture and many worried for him with regards his health.

With those putting food out for him, as well as food for hedgehogs and feral cats in and the other sources it is extremely unlikely he will go hungry.GSPCA wildlife camera stray dog Bertie

We are doing everything we possibly can, but we cannot move forward until we know his exact movements.

There is a reward for his return of £200.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "It is amazing how many people are involved in helping find Bertie, but at the GSPCA we would like to remind everyone that he is a very nervous dog and is likely only to be out at night."

"There are many putting food out for him in the areas he has been seen and if you have CCTV or a night camera you can check it would be very much appreciated."

"As soon as we have a regular pattern with his movements we will be looking to set up our wildlife camera which are great pieces of equipment for monitoring our wildlife to help capturing pictures and videos of stray animals."

"Around the clock we are receiving calls with information and we are doing all we can to help find Bertie."

"Thank you to all helping with the search of Bertie and please do call the GSPCA on 257261 with any sightings or possible indications that he has been in an area."
