The GSPCA has had to grow in recent years to meet the demands on our services and ensure the care and rescue of animals in need.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “At the GSPCA Spring always means a huge work increase for the GSPCA and with so many events and our BIGGEST BUILD to the Spring young animals we don’t stop around the clock.”

“Sadly one of our team after more than 17 years Sue Le Goff will be leaving us.”

“Many will know Sue from caring for their cats when they drop them off for boarding, but Sue has in the past worked in all of the departments at the GSPCA.”

“Sue has been a fantastic team member and will be very much missed.”

“Due to this we are looking for additional team members, and we are always keen to hear from those looking to volunteer.”

“From possible full time to part time hours including evening hours we have a range of options available at the GSPCA.”

“The work requires a range of skills as its not all about caring for animals as we help our community to the systems in place for recording the animal details and using online platforms for those lost to those needing homes.”

“We are also always looking for those wishing to sponsor our work and there are a huge range of ways in which to do this.”

“We have some departments that require specific help on weekends and especially boarding cats and possibly looking at other areas such as maintenance and the animal ambulance.”

“To apply for a paid position please download the application pack below, call 257261 and we can post one out, email admin@gspca.org.gg or pop in to collect a pack.”

When we have posts at the GSPCA we advertise online, through our social media and sometimes in the local media. Please keep an eye on this page for vacancies like those below.

The GSPCA are often looking for additional casual staff members to help with our increasingly busy front desk, the animals, guided tours, cleaning and to continue to develop our charity shop area.

Casual positions help cover the 7 day a week work, especially on weekends and bank holidays when the GSPCA is often extremely busy and very much with cover for holidays or illness.

We have a team of 50 staff and over 800 volunteers and without the whole team we couldn't help the 3000+ animals that come through the doors every year, care for the many boarders and achieve so much.

The Casual Animal Care Assistant are exciting posts with varied duties to help from covering the ambulance to working in the many departments at the GSPCA and help the 24/7 work of the GSPCA.

The roles involve animal care, rescue, customer relations, using our IT, telephone calls, acceptance, boarding, welfare complaints, animal pet tributes, adoption and post adoption processes, GSPCA tours, website, social media and procedures are conducted correctly, thoroughly and professionally.

We are often looking for casual team members and review applications each month.

To apply and find out more please download an application pack below or collect one from the GSPCA Animal Shelter in St Andrews.

All applicants are required to complete an application form which is included in the pack and return it to the GSPCA, Rue des Truchots, St Andrews, Guernsey, GY6 8UD or email stevejbyrne@gspca.org.gg
