This weekend we welcomed Islanders to our first of the two planned guided tour events.  The sun was shining and the three tours were received extremely well.

The visitors were walked around the Shelter being shown the facilities and getting close to the 200 resident animals and birds.

The tour started in the newly refurbished wildlife unit and went to each of the Shelters departments meeting staff and volunteers whilst finding out what we do and our plans for the future.

The tours ended with a hot drink and cake as well as a chat and chance to ask questions about the GSPCA and animal care.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said ‘We are very proud of the work we do at the GSPCA and it was wonderful to meet the extremely caring visitors that came along.’  ‘I have to say the donkeys were the biggest hit and I think everyone wanted to take them home.’

This Saturday we have another chance for those that are interested and for more details call 01481 257261 or pop in to reception to find out more.

Tickets are on sale at £25 each and will include an hours tour with a hot drink, cake and some goodies to take home.  All money raised is going towards a much needed new boiler for the wildlife and oil bird unit.

Please remember numbers are limited but if we do sell out we may consider additional dates.
