Last week we announced the Turfhunt Treasure Hunt app is now live if you use code EADASD so that you can find all 62 dolphins, also the website by Bailiwick Express can also be viewed.
The GSPCA and Autism Guernsey are even more delighted to announce that Echo is back in place near to St Martins Primary School at the St Martins Masonic Hall grounds, all be it now in a slightly protected location which means all 62 are out to view.
The app is completely free but donations are hugely welcomed and if anyone would like to be the sponsor of the app please do email steve@gspca.org.gg

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We were delighted to announce last week that the Dolphin Discovery Trail treasure hunt app Turfhunt is now live after a huge amount of testing mostly thanks to the staff volunteering from Artex.”
“You can download it for android or iphone and is amazing fun and completely free but donations are welcomed.”
“We are even more delighted that Echo the damaged dolphin is now back in pace having been repaired by Gareth Mitchell and redecorated by St Martins Primary School.”
“Earlier today I popped by the school to see Head Teacher Mrs Giles and collect Echo who I have reattached to the plinth and is back in place at the Masonic Hall.”
“We haven’t popped her back in the exact same place but behind the fence covered by the CCTV so still withing metres or its original location and can clearly be seen, just slightly safer than the public lane where it was damaged on Liberation Day.”
“A reminder for those on the search you will notice that there is a dolphin in Herm Island but the treasure hunt location is in Guernsey and is a poster to enable all islanders to achieve all 124 points possible without having to leave Guernsey but we would love to see you pictures with the dolphin in Herm if you get any.”
“This all means islanders can now go search for all 62 dolphins and many will have already seen the website and the features thanks to Bailiwick Express who have been an amazing help.”
“As mentioned the team at Artex have been truly incredible from painting plinths to mounting dolphins with our GSPCA and Work2Benefit team, and getting nearly every one to their locations which has been a superb support and this weekend trailing a live version of the app which all tweaks we have found have been updated so we hope everyone enjoys.”
“They are now out until the end of August and we are looking at holding the auction in September at the Peninsula.”
“The app is free for the users but does come at a cost to us so please do donate and if you could sponsor the ‘turfhunt’ app we are looking for a minimum £1000 and would be a huge help to cover the costs to something that will ensure islanders and visitors have a lot of fun searching and recording the dolphins they find.”
“Those who get all 124 points from the app being 1 point for locating the dolphin and a second point for a picture of or with it will be in with a chance to win a prize or prizes depending on if others can help with additional prizes, with the top prize being an iwatch thanks to JT.”
“We have had lots of help to get us to where we are from Ravenscroft with the plinths to Signrite with the signs, Artex volunteers delivering and testing the app to our team, volunteers and the Work to Benefit placements have been incredible.”
“We cannot thank the 62 sponsors and artists enough as well as all the locations and so many others such as Bailiick Express for all they are doing.”
“We have had challenges like the damaged dolphins but we are now days away for the island to enjoy this incredible event.”
“You can donate to the event and repair of Echo as we have set up a page by going to https://giving.gg/donate/event/9835/Dolphin-Discovery-Trail-2025--In-aid-GSPCA-and-Autism-Guernsey .”
Andrew Sparks Autism Guernsey Director said “We are over joyed to announce the treasure hunt app Turfhunt is now live.”
“Thank you to everyone that has helped so far and if anyone would like to sponsor the treasure hunt app to find all the dolphins and be in with a chance to win a prize then please do get in touch.”
“A special mention to Bailiwick Express who have created the website and will be featuring every dolphin through there news channels, thank you so much.”
Further information:
After the huge success of the Puffin Parade held in 2023 which raised over £140,000 between the GSPCA and Autism Guernsey both charities are delighted to be working together once again in 2025 to bring to Guernsey the Dolphin Discovery Trail 2025.
Both the GSPCA and Autism Guernsey do vital work within our community. Events such as the 2023 Puffin Parade not only raise valuable funds but provide a huge amount of fun for islanders and visitors alike. This year’s Dolphins Trail promises to be both memorable and spectacular.
Islanders will have heard of the financial challenges faced by both charities. as Autism Guernsey. has recently become aware that one of its major donors will be withdrawing its support by the end of the year. The GSPCA is looking to build much needed new facilities. This event will not only be a celebration of the achievements of two vital charities, but also a chance to support their work.
The sponsors and artists will be promoted during the upcoming weeks and months and we are looking to launch the Trail in the coming days…….
Over the years the GSPCA has helped dolphins that have been stranded, the most famous of which was Fortune who stayed in Beaucette Marina for a period of rehab.
Dolphins are highly intelligent and sensitive creatures, regular visitors to of our waters and universally loved - a fitting choice for the 2025 Parade.
There are many ways to support the Dolphin Discovery Trail and here is a few ideas –
