Last night we held our first volunteer induction evening of 2015.

20 new volunteers arrived, some with family members and friends to find out about the work of the GSPCA.

At 6.30pm the induction began with GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne talking about the work of the GSPCA, the areas that volunteers can help and how to work safely at the Shelter and our events.

After a 70 minute induction and presentation the volunteers were handed an induction pack and certificate of attendence.

Each new volunteer then had a chance to chat to Steve Byrne about how they would like to help and set a date.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We are extremely lucky to have such a wonderful team of volunteers at the GSPCA and we are always looking to welcome those keen to help."

"Last night we held our first volunteer induction evening of 2015 and we had a full house and I even had to get extra chairs to fit everyone in."

"The first of the new volunteers start tomorrow morning and we look forward getting them involved at the GSPCA."

"From work experience to animal care volunteers, fund raising to Duke of Edinburgh the new volunteers came from a variety of walks of life and ages."

"Our next volunteer induction evening is on Tuesday the 10th February during our GSPCA Purple Week when we celebrate our 142nd year helping animals in Guernsey."

We are always looking for volunteers to help at the Shelter in a variety of roles. Volunteers helping raise funds for the GSPCA Animal Shelter Guernsey
