On Wednesday the 26th November we held our eleventh and final Volunteer Induction Evening at the GSPCA of 2014.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager and Emma Trousdale Animal Care Assistant were on hand to talk to the 17 new volunteers about the work of the Shelter and induct the keen new volunteers about the procedures and protocols at the Animal Shelter.

Some were interested in helping fund raising, others clean kennels, walk dogs, socialise cats and even those doing their Duke of Edinburgh.

Emma Trousdale Animal Care Assistant said "We had a lovely evening on Wednesday at the GSPCA talking to nearly 20 new volunteers all wanting to help us in the work we do caring for animals in Guernsey."

"We are looking forward to getting everyone involved and thank you to each and every one that came along."

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "We've had 11 group inductions this year and have trained over 200 volunteers in 2014 from those that help regularly, the many corporate groups, work experience and even voluntourists."

"We have already planned a list of volunteer induction dates for 2015 with the next on Wednesday 7th January, but if anyone wants to help with any of our fund raising events they can drop me an email or call us for a chat on 01481 257261.'

"We have well over 400 volunteers that help us at the GSPCA through the year, some giving up half hour on our flag day to those that help every week care for the animals at the Shelter and we appreciate every minute as it all helps us ensure we can do so much to help animals in Guernsey."
