Lockdown has caused all sorts of fund raising ideas for good causes and last week one of these took place.

Len Le Prevost due to lockdown had grown a very long head of hair and decided to help much needed funds for the GSPCA by cutting it off.

Len Le Prevost said “My hair had grown very long and I decided to cut it off and raise funds for the GSPCA.”

“I adopted dog Maddie from the Animal Shelter and she comes everywhere with me.”

“I really wanted to help the animals and support the GSPCA.”

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “What a head of hair Len had and a huge thanks to him and all at the Mariners Inn for raising an amazing £840.”

“Len was due to have a haircut just as Lockdown 2 started so he certainly had a head full and it looks like everyone had a huge amount of fun as well as what sounds like a fabulous raffle they also had on the night.”

“We love to hear from anyone wanting to raise funds for the GSPCA and if there is anything we can do to support please email me [email protected] or call 257261 as every penny really does help the hundreds of animals in our care.”

The Mariners’ Inn landlord Harry Le Poidevin said “A very big thankyou, from Lenny and myself to everyone who sponsored/donated/chucked a couple quid in the bucket Friday night....... A great amount raised for a very worthwhile charity.”

“Thank you to Lisa for doing the haircut, and of course Lenny himself for being a good sport!!”

Steve continued “With few fund raisers and next to no boarding due to lockdown the GSPCA income has been hit hard and we need your support now more than ever.”

“There are many ways you can help support our vital 24/7 work and donate or raise funds for the hundreds of animals in our care.”

“With over 140 hedgehogs, 3 seal pups, dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, fish, reptiles and many birds we help over 3000 animals through the doors every year.”

“With so many animals in our care we would love you to join our sponsor scheme to help us each month.”

“Just a couple of pounds each month can make a massive difference in helping the animals in our care and to find out more please go to http://www.gspca.org.gg/sites/default/files/Angel%20sponsor%20form%20special%202018%20new.pdf .”

“To make a donation you can go to https://giving.gg/donate/charity/2/Guernsey-Society-for-the-Prevention-of-Cruelty-to-Animals-(GSPCA) .”

“We couldn’t do so much without your support and here a few ideas of how you can help us help animals in Guernsey.”
