Mitzi the cat arrived at the GSPCA on the 10th April 2013.

Sadly due to her getting a bit grumpy every so often finding her a home proved very difficult.

Over the New Year a potential new owner came forward showing an interest and on Saturday Mitzi left for her forever home.

Anna Paint Senior Animal Care assistant said "It is always mixed emotions when one of our cats go to their new homes as we do get attached to them, although it is a great feeling when they do leave for their new home."

"Mitzi when she first arrived could be quite grumpy, but she has got much better."

"We wish Mitzi all the best in her new home."

"Our longest stay cat at the GSPCA is now Kenya who arrived in July of 2013 and he also needs a very special home as he can be a little nervous and if anyone can help him please do pop in or give us a call."

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "It is wonderful that Mitzi has found her forever home, but we have many more animals in need at the GSPCA."

"It is always harder to find the nervous or older animals new homes, especially the cats."

"We have cats like Nala in double figures and nervous cats like Kenya looking for that perfect owner and if you can help we'd love to hear from you."
