Submitted by Steve on 11:03, 1st Oct, 2015 | 0

Last night we welcomed enough new faces to the GSPCA to set up a rugby team with reserves.

With 20 attending and 12 all signed up with a date to start volunteering at the GSPCA and others to be confirmed we have already started the first three this morning.

The new volunteers during their induction learnt about the work of the Shelter and how to become involved with our 24 hour 7 day a week work.

This morning Phil, Jane and Lili have already experienced cleaning out and caring for the many animals at the Shelter with many others starting over the next few days.

Thank you to all that supported our stall at the North Show

Submitted by Steve on 18:45, 1st Sep, 2015 | 0

Last Wednesday and Thursday we took the GSPCA stall along to the North Show.

On Wednesday morning the weather challenged the team but despite high winds and rain after 4 hours we were set up and ready to raise funds for the animals at the Shelter.

The North Show is one of the main events in Guernsey's summer calendar, and takes place in the wonderful rural setting of Saumarez Park.

The Guernsey North Show and Battle of Flowers is run by the Northern Agricultural and Horticultural Society and the GSPCA are very grateful to them for allowing us to come along.

Cuddly toy appeal - GSPCA appeal for soft toys for our BIGGEST event of the year - Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday 13th September

Submitted by Steve on 14:10, 1st Sep, 2015 | 0

At the GSPCA we are normally appealing for homes for animals, but we are currently appealing for your unwanted soft toys.

After a very busy summer fund raising at many events we are running low on cuddly toys which we use as prizes on some of our games to help raise funds for the Shelter.

If you have any unwanted soft toys then please pop them up to the Shelter or if you need a vehicle to pick up quite a few then please let us know and we can arrange collection.

Thank you to all of our Flag Day collectors that helped Saturday & all who donated

Submitted by Steve on 14:15, 25th Aug, 2015 | 0

This year we have had to split our flag day into three so we can collect in the many locations in Guernsey.

Earlier this year on the first of the three days we collected over £1200 at the two Waitrose stores and this Saturday we had another successful day collecting in many locations around our lovely island.

We do not yet have a final total (to be confirmed), but from all of the hundreds of animals at the GSPCA a huge thank you to one and all that helped collect and also to the many that donated from all corners of Guernsey.
