The GSPCA was founded in 1873 and to help celebrate 142 years caring for animals in Guernsey we are asking for your help.
There are many ways you, your school, group, work place, business can help celebrate.
The GSPCA week starts 9th February and celebrations will carry on until the 15th with our anniversary being Valentines Day the 14th February.
Ideas to get involved.......
The GSPCA are extremely grateful to OSA Recruitment for the opportunity to take up residence in the their Pop Up Shop in Smith Street.
From 9am until 5pm Monday 19th until Saturday 24th January the shop will be open selling both new and donated goods for you and your pets.
You can find out about the events for the GSPCA in 2015 and even see those animals in need of homes.

We are blessed with many volunteers and committed individuals that help across the Bailiwick of Guernsey in animal welfare around the clock every day.

On Midnight to celebrate the New Year many will be setting off fireworks, so please think of your pets and animals around you.
Every year the GSPCA are called out and receive stray dogs and cats during periods of fireworks, which have either escaped or run off due to being scared by the loud bangs they make.
Sadly less than 45% of the stray dogs and cats are microchipped that are found as strays and brought to the GSPCA, and even less have collars with tags.
Christmas can often be overwhelming for animals and there can be extra temptations around the home for inquisitive mouths.
Their usual home environment is filled with trees, flowers and other decorations and also there are odd noises such as crackers and fireworks.
Your routine is likely to change and there may be unfamiliar visitors coming to the house.
Following a few simple rules can mean the Christmas period can be as enjoyable for pets as for their owners.

There are many ways in which your business can get involved with supporting the GSPCA and it provides an excellent opportunity for companies to reach out to animal lovers and find an audience that believes deeply in Animal Welfare.

The days following Christmas & the New Year at the GSPCA we will be running a series of guided tours.
There are always hot drinks, snacks and goods on sale during our open times Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm.
We are closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Day and reception will shut at 4pm on Christmas Eve and News Years Eve.
This is your opportunity to visit behind the scenes at our Animal Shelter and see the work being carried out for the new build.
