Last night we held our 9th Volunteer Induction of 2019 and greeted 11 new faces keen to help.

The all ladies induction was taken by GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne who greeted the group from which the youngest was 12 and turns 13 later this month which is the age to start to help with the animals.

From gardening to caring for the animals each of the ladies were keen to help in a variety of way.

The first of the group start tomorrow morning with the others later on this month.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “It was lovely to meet all 11 new volunteers last night.”

“The youngest turns 13 later this month so she will be starting at the end of August and we have 3 starting tomorrow, 1 Thursday, 1 Friday, some this weekend and others next week.”

“There are so many ways to help at the GSPCA from helping care for our grounds and gardening to fund raising.”

“There are many animal roles to helping on reception at the GSPCA, dog training to helping with our ambulance and all you need do is pop along to an induction to get involved.”

“With the 11 new volunteers inducted last night, that takes the total to 98 volunteers trained through our inductions this year with many others that have started and helped in other ways.”

“The GSPCA could not do so much without our amazing and wonderful volunteers.”

“In fact we see an average 120 volunteers helping every week in a variety ways and areas and have over 800 pairs of helping hands every year.”

“The next volunteer induction is on Tuesday 10th September at 630pm and all are welcome.”

“We are after those that can help with our ambulance driving to our flag days.”

“In fact we have a flag day this Saturday and if anyone can help please call 257261 and ask for Michelle or email [email protected] .”

“Huge thanks to the 11 new volunteers that attended last night and we look forward seeing you all soon.”
