Last night we held the final animal first aid course of 2019 at the GSPCA.

The theme was Dog First Aid and the room was packed with 22 keen dog owners and interested individuals who spent the evening with GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne who has over 22 years working in the field of animal rescue and with over 3000 animals through the doors every year at the GSPCA the team see cases of animal first aid on a daily basis here in Guernsey.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We have been running dog and cat first aid courses for over five years and have trained over 270 participants to help save animals lives.”

“It was amazing to see such a packed room last night with three of the GSPCA team members in the room and 19 keen members of the community wanting to learn how to save a dogs life.”

“Casper our CPR dog was present who is a bit like an Annie and all were presented with a pack of goodies.”

“As those attended were leaving the room the thanks and positive feedback was incredible and we run them to help owners know what they can do to help save a dogs life.”

"For those worried they have missed the last course we have just set the dates for the 2020 courses."

"As owners of pets our worst fear is not knowing what to do if our four legged friend has an injury and this training helps pet owners learn and understand ways to help save your pets life."
