Amazing thankss to Clarity CI Who Come to the Rescue & Helps Keep the GSPCA Connected Following Storm Austin Damage while we await assistance from Sure
The GSPCA would like to extend a huge thank you to Clarity CI, Matt Hale and Brendan Bougourd for their incredible support this morning after Storm Austin caused significant disruption to the charity's communications.
At approximately 6.30am, a fallen tree brought down the GSPCA's Sure fibre internet and telephone line, leaving the animal shelter without its normal communications systems at a time when the charity was already responding to storm-related animal incidents across the Island.
After contacting Sure and putting out an appeal for assistance, help quickly arrived thanks to the fantastic team at Clarity CI. Before 9am, Matt Hale, Director of Clarity CI, was on site at the GSPCA fitting a 4G wireless router, while Brendan Bougourd generously donated a SIM card to help get the system operational.
Thanks to their swift actions, by shortly after 9am the GSPCA's phone lines were back in operation and internet services were restored, enabling the charity to continue its vital 24/7 animal welfare work. Although Sure have since attended the site and the fallen tree has been removed thanks to the amazing team at Treevolution Professional Services, repairs to the damaged lines are still ongoing.
GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne said:
"We are incredibly grateful to Matt, Brendan and everyone at Clarity CI for coming to our rescue this morning. Losing our phone and internet connections during severe weather was a major concern, particularly as we were already dealing with wildlife casualties and animal welfare emergencies caused by Storm Austin.
Matt was on site before 9am and quickly set up a temporary solution, while Brendan very generously donated the SIM card needed to get us connected. Their support meant that within a matter of hours we were back online and our phone lines were once again available to help animals and people who needed us.
Clarity CI have been amazing supporters of the GSPCA for many years and provide invaluable assistance with our IT systems. Their professionalism, kindness and willingness to help at short notice never cease to amaze us, and we cannot thank them enough for all that they do for the charity.
We would also like to thank Sure for attending site and Treevolution Professional Services for their rapid response in removing the fallen tree. The community support we have received today has been absolutely incredible."
The GSPCA continues to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, caring for sick, injured and abandoned animals across Guernsey. As Storm Austin continues to impact the Island, the charity is dealing with wildlife casualties, responding to animal emergencies and carrying out storm clean-up work around the shelter. Staff and volunteers are also busy clearing debris and working on repairs, including dismantling and restoring damaged aviaries and enclosures.
If you need the GSPCA's help, please contact the charity on 01481 257261.

From everyone at the GSPCA, thank you once again to Matt Hale, Brendan Bougourd and the entire Clarity CI team for helping keep the charity connected when it was needed most. Their support has ensured that animals in need can continue to receive help without interruption despite the challenges brought by Storm Austin.
