You may have seen our two recent posts on older cats desperately in need of homes and how Spud and Dexter are settling well in their forever homes.

This is Dexter one of our rare younger recent residents that as you can see is loving his wonderful new home.

It is great that we see very few kittens in need or suffering, but this does mean we don’t often have many young cats in need of homes, but we certainly have many older cats needing that special someone.

Anna Paint Senior Animal care Assistant said “Dexter who was Dave is a lovely young cat and it is so wonderful to see him in his new home.”

“We having waiting lists of families looking for kittens which is sad when we have so many older cats or those with medical needs looking for a forever home.”

“Thank you so much to Dexters owners for these wonderful pictures, it is so lovely to see how happy he is in his new home.”

Dexter the cat kindly wrote us this email message recently –

“ Dear Anna and the GSPCA rehoming team,

As promised I thought I’d drop you a line to let you know how I am settling in at my home with Paul and Debbie Townsend.

As you can see I am keeping them entertained and making sure they know who is in charge! I have plenty of toys and particularly love my blue bird that flys around on the end of a wand, although I do have to growl a bit so they know for sure it’s my possession not theirs!!

My food bowl is satisfyingly stocked and I am pleased to say my dreamies mouse, a gift to me from GSPCA continues to magically dispense little pockets of joyous treats on a daily basis!

Thank you so much for finding me such a lovely forever home.

Love from Dexter (was Dave) x”

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “What amazing pictures and so nice to have a lovely letter from Dexter.”

“It really warms our hearts when we see updates and pictures from animals we have cared for and rehomed.”

“Anyone that has adopted an animal from us please do keep us up to date with how they are doing as the team love to hear from you and them.”

“We have many animals in need of homes and there are many ways to support those in our care from sharing their details online to sponsoring and donating to their care and for lots of ideas please get in touch or check out this link http://www.gspca.org.gg/fundraising .”
