After months of care and 3 already released to the wild the 3 remaining seals are on the final stretch to the next part of their journey and life.

Having released Marty back in Jersey as well as Gully and Sealia on Jethou recently we now only have Hannah, Mambo and Andy left in our care.

Hannah and Mambo are doing incredibly well but need their final feeds of herring and mackerel and all donations of fresh fish or towards fish are hugely appreciated to fatten them up before their release very soon.

Andy who was rescued from Jersey is still not fit enough for the wild and we are liaising with other seal experts to see how we can help him ideally get back to the wild or where else he could possibly go.

Geoff George GSPCA Head of Marine Mammals said “We are very close to being able to release Hannah and Mambo back into Guernsey waters.”

“They are doing extremely well and it won’t be long until they are back in the wild.”

“Andy still isn’t fit or fat enough for the wild and we continue to care for him and have been talking to other seal experts to see how we can help him.”

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “It has been an incredibly busy year with seal pups at the GSPCA and so fantastic to have seen three released and Mambo and Hannah very close to their departure back to the wild.”

“We are appealing for donations to their final care and want to thank all that have already helped in so many ways.”

“We have a big year ahead once they have been released as we are trying to rebuild our wildlife f

“To support our Wildlife Hospital you can Buy a Brick, make a donation or even help support a room or section for the build and anyone who would like to support tis build we would love to hear from them.”

“With over 2000 wild animals through our care every year a new Wildlife Hospital would be a dream come true for us all at the GSPCA.”
