The GSPCA are once again hugely grateful to Nickie Browning the Fire Safety Officer for the States of Guernsey.

For over 2 years Nickie has not only helped the GSPCA update our fire safety procedures, she has also carried out training with our team.

Once again last month Nickie spent two mornings with the team to train them in safety procedures if there was an emergency or fire at the GSPCA.

In recent years there have been a number of fires that have caused devastation at animal shelters, zoos and similar establishments and the GSPCA strive to not only ensure the GSPCA is a safe place for people and animals, we are always trying to ensure the team is as skilled as possible to deal with any challenge they may have to face.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “Of all disasters that could hit a work place fire has to be one of the most worrying and we do all we can at the GSPCA to ensure all buildings are safe and the team well trained.”

“Once again we are hugely grateful to Nickie Browning the Fire Safety Officer for the Fire & Rescue Service.”

“This is the third year she has helped with training for our team and she has also helped update our procedures and protocols in case of an emergency.”

“We are always looking for trainers and speakers that can help improve the skills of our team and if anyone can help please do get in touch by calling 01481 257261 or email [email protected] .”

Yvonne Chauvel GSPCA Senior Animal Car Assistant said “The training Nickie did for us all was such a great refresher and really valuable.”

“We hope we never need to use much of what she taught us, but she explained ways we can help ensure we prevent fires or accidents from happening and if something was to happen what to do.”

“With over 500 animals at the GSPCA and 16 buildings we have a lot to care for at the Animal Shelter.”

“Thank you to Nickie for what was a very informative and useful training session.”
