Go Forth the North: GSPCA and Northern Trust Volunteers Heading to the North Show

The GSPCA is looking forward to attending this year's North Show at Saumarez Park on Wednesday and Thursday, where staff, volunteers and supporters will once again be raising funds and awareness for the charity's vital work caring for Guernsey's animals.

Located near the Animals Tent, the GSPCA stall will be staffed by GSPCA team members alongside a fantastic group of volunteers from long-time supporters Northern Trust, who will be helping across both days of the show.

Visitors will be able to browse a range of GSPCA goods, learn more about the charity's work, find out how they can support the £3.7 million #GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal, and take part in the charity's ever-popular cuddly toy tombola, which has become a favourite attraction for many families at island shows.

The GSPCA team will also be promoting animals currently looking for loving new homes, providing information on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare, and sharing updates on the exciting progress of the charity's Biggest Build project.

Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager, said:

"We are really looking forward to being part of the North Show once again. The show is always a fantastic opportunity to meet supporters old and new, promote the work of the GSPCA and raise valuable funds for the animals in our care and our Biggest Build Appeal. We will have plenty of GSPCA goodies available, our famous cuddly toy tombola and lots of information about how people can get involved in supporting the charity."

Steve added:

"We are incredibly grateful to Northern Trust for once again providing volunteers across both days. Their staff have supported us at many events over the years and their continued commitment to the GSPCA is hugely appreciated. We hope people will come along, say hello and find out more about the work we do every day for the island's animals."

The North Show's well-known slogan, "Go Forth the North", celebrates one of Guernsey's most popular community events, and the GSPCA team is excited to be part of the festivities once again.

Tim Pellett, GSPCA Training and Community Officer, said:

"The North Show is always a brilliant event and a great chance to engage with the public, answer questions and share the many ways people can support local animal welfare. Whether it's taking a chance on the tombola, purchasing GSPCA merchandise, supporting our Big Build, adopting an animal in need or simply learning more about our work, every conversation and every donation helps make a difference."

The GSPCA is always keen to welcome new volunteers and supporters. Anyone interested in helping at future events or supporting the charity in other ways is encouraged to get in touch.

The GSPCA would like to thank Northern Trust, the North Show organisers, volunteers and supporters for their continued support and looks forward to welcoming visitors to the stand at Saumarez Park on Wednesday and Thursday.
