GSPCA Celebrates Volunteers’ Week and Invites New Helpers to Join the Team – Volunteer Induction Evening 630pm Thursday 4th June

The GSPCA is encouraging islanders to get involved this Volunteers’ Week, starting Monday 1st June, by celebrating the incredible contribution of its volunteers and inviting new faces to join the team.

As part of the week’s activities, the GSPCA will be hosting a Volunteer Induction Evening at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews on:
Thursday 4th June
6:30pm

This informal and welcoming session will give those interested the opportunity to learn more about volunteering at the GSPCA, meet the team, and discover how they can make a difference to animals in need.

From dog walking to gardening, reception duties to animal ambulance driving, fundraising to cleaning and caring for animals, there are a wide range of roles available to suit all interests and availability. Volunteers can give as much or as little time as they like, but must be aged 16 or over to take part.

For those unable to attend the induction evening, further information and the volunteer application form can be found online:

Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager, said: “Volunteers’ Week is a fantastic opportunity for us to say a huge thank you to the incredible people who give their time to support the GSPCA. We are so lucky to have such a dedicated group of volunteers who are an essential part of our amazing team, helping us care for animals day and night.

Whether it’s walking dogs, helping at reception, supporting events, or assisting with animal care, our volunteers make a real difference every single day. We would love to welcome more people to join us, and our induction evening is the perfect opportunity to find out how you can get involved.”

The GSPCA encourages anyone with a love of animals and a desire to help to come along, get involved, and become part of a team that plays a vital role in animal welfare across Guernsey.
