The Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) is proud to announce a landmark moment in its 152-year history as part of the ongoing #GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal.
In a private ceremony by invitation only, the GSPCA will lay the cornerstone of first brick laid of its new Wildlife Hospital on the foundations which have now been completed—an essential step in the charity’s most ambitious construction project to date.
This special event celebrates the progress made so far in the development of the Wildlife Hospital, a facility that will significantly enhance the care and rehabilitation of wild animals across the Bailiwick.
Attendees will be welcomed to the GSPCA Training and Events Room, where refreshments will be served and a display will showcase the future plans for the build. GSPCA team members will be on hand to discuss the journey and vision behind the appeal.
Following the ceremony, guests will be invited to take part in guided tours of the Animal Shelter and continue conversations over refreshments.
GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne shared his thoughts on the occasion:

“There are so many ways to support this much needed facilities and we have already raised £1,500,000 of the £3,700,000 but a long way to go to reach our target to get all the facilities including kennels and a ferret unit by next Winter.”
