GSPCA Thanks Northern Trust Volunteers & to all for Supporting us at the North Show

The GSPCA would like to say a huge thank you to the team from Northern Trust who volunteered alongside staff and volunteers at this year's North Show at Saumarez Park.

The popular annual event provided a fantastic opportunity for the GSPCA to meet supporters, promote the charity's work, raise awareness of animal welfare issues and share information about the ongoing #GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal, which is helping to create the charity's new Wildlife Hospital and future-proof animal welfare services across the Bailiwick.

Throughout the show, visitors stopped by the GSPCA stand to learn more about the charity's work, find out how they could get involved and support the appeal. The stall also featured games, information displays and opportunities for islanders to hear more about the many animals cared for by the GSPCA every year.

Helping on the stand from Northern Trust were:

  • Alesia
  • Daniella
  • JingJing
  • Jon
  • Karen
  • Chloe
  • Stuart

Their support helped ensure the GSPCA could engage with hundreds of visitors throughout the event.

Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager, said:

"We are incredibly grateful to Alesia, Daniella, JingJing, Jon, Karen, Chloe and Stuart from Northern Trust for giving up their time to help us at the North Show. Corporate volunteering provides a fantastic boost to our team and allows us to reach more people with information about animal welfare, the work we do and our #GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal. It was wonderful to meet so many supporters over the course of the show and we would like to thank everyone who stopped by to say hello, support our work and learn more about our plans for the future."

“Also a thank you to volunteers Kiriana, Bridget and Dylan for all of their help.”

Tim Pellett, GSPCA Community and Training Officer, added:

"The Summer Shows are always great fun and a fantastic way to meet members of the community. We have had another brilliant season attending events across the island and having enthusiastic volunteers from Northern Trust supporting us made a huge difference. We love sharing stories about the animals in our care, speaking to supporters and encouraging more people to get involved with the charity through volunteering, fundraising and corporate group days."

The GSPCA team has enjoyed attending a wide range of community events throughout the summer and is already looking ahead to an exciting programme of activities in 2027. Plans are underway for a variety of fundraising and community events, including a ball, Seafront Sundays, the Summer Shows and many other opportunities for islanders to support animal welfare while having fun.
