GSPCA Thanks Supervisor Anna Paint for 23 Years of Dedicated Service

The GSPCA team gathered this afternoon to surprise Supervisor Anna Paint as she completed her full-time role with the charity after an incredible 23 years of service which saw a few tears and many hugs.

Team members came together to thank Anna for her dedication, presenting her with flowers, cards and gifts in recognition of the difference she has made to countless animals and people over more than two decades with the charity.

Whilst Anna is stepping away from her full-time position, she is not saying goodbye to the GSPCA. Anna will continue to support the charity through volunteering and will also assist with occasional hours whenever needed and when she is available.

Throughout her 23 years at the GSPCA, Anna has worked across many areas of the organisation, from animal ambulance duties to caring for animals in the kennels. In more recent years she has become particularly well known for leading the cattery team, where she has helped care for and rehome thousands of cats and kittens.

Even as she transitions from her full-time role, Anna remains as dedicated as ever and is currently hand-rearing kittens, continuing her commitment to helping animals in need.

Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager, said:

"It is impossible to put into words just how much Anna has given to the GSPCA over the past 23 years. Her compassion, dedication, knowledge and hard work have helped thousands of animals and supported so many colleagues, volunteers and members of the public.”

“From her time on the animal ambulance and in the kennels through to leading our cattery, Anna has always gone above and beyond for every animal in her care. We are incredibly grateful for everything she has done and delighted that she will continue to be part of the GSPCA family through volunteering and helping out when she can.”

“On behalf of the staff, committee and supporters, I want to say a huge thank you to Anna for all she has achieved and all she will continue to do for the animals we care for."

Yvonne Chauvel, GSPCA Supervisor, who has worked alongside Anna since she joined the charity, said:

"I still remember when Anna first joined the team 23 years ago and it has been wonderful to watch her grow into such a respected and knowledgeable member of staff. Over the years we have shared so many memories, challenges and successes together and, most importantly, become very close friends.”

“Anna has always had an incredible way with animals, especially cats, and her dedication has inspired so many people around her. She has been a fantastic colleague, a trusted friend and someone I know the animals could always rely on. Although it is strange to think of her not being here every day, I am so pleased she will still be involved with the GSPCA."

Helen Sharman, who cares for the GSPCA's boarding cats, added:

"Working with Anna has been an absolute privilege. Her knowledge and understanding of cats is remarkable and she has taught me so much over the years.”

“Anna has always been patient, supportive and willing to share her experience, helping me grow in confidence and learn how to provide the very best care for the cats we look after. I am incredibly grateful for all of her guidance, friendship and encouragement and look forward to continuing to work alongside her whenever she is helping at the GSPCA."

Everyone at the GSPCA would like to thank Anna for her remarkable 23 years of service and dedication and wishes her every happiness as she embarks on this next chapter, whilst remaining a valued member of the GSPCA family.
