Healthspan Team Lends a Helping Hand at the GSPCA

The GSPCA was delighted to welcome nine members of staff from Healthspan to the Animal Shelter on 18th May for a rewarding corporate volunteering day.

The team were greeted by GSPCA Training and Community Officer Tim Pellett, who provided an introduction to the charity's work before everyone gathered for a quick group photograph. The volunteers then got stuck into helping the team at the Animal Shelter with a variety of tasks, assisting staff and supporting the day-to-day care of the animals.

As part of their visit, the Healthspan team also enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the shelter with Tim, giving them a greater insight into the work that takes place every day to care for Guernsey’s animals in need.

GSPCA Training and Community Officer Tim Pellett said:

"It was a pleasure to welcome the Healthspan team to the GSPCA. Corporate volunteering days are a fantastic way for local businesses to support the community while giving their staff an opportunity to learn more about animal welfare and the work we do. The team worked incredibly hard, showed great enthusiasm throughout the day and it was wonderful to share a behind-the-scenes look at the shelter with them. We are very grateful for all their help and support."

GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne added:

"We would like to say a huge thank you to the nine members of staff from Healthspan who volunteered their time with us on 18th May. Support from local businesses through corporate volunteering days makes a real difference and helps our small team continue caring for thousands of animals every year. We are incredibly grateful to Healthspan for supporting the charity and encouraging their staff to get involved."

"Whether it is helping with practical tasks around the shelter, supporting animal care, gardening, maintenance projects or other activities, there are many ways groups can make a positive impact. We would encourage any businesses, organisations or community groups interested in volunteering to get in touch and learn more about the opportunities available."

The GSPCA welcomes corporate and group volunteering days throughout the year, offering local businesses and organisations the opportunity to support the charity while enjoying a unique team-building experience.
