With a record breaking number of hedgehogs in our care this year and over 500 animals at the moment we need you to help us help animals this Christmas.

From wildlife to domestic, those needing homes to rehabilitation there are many ways you can support our work and what a great gift helping animals in need could be for a loved one.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “With the biggest day of kindness and giving to others approaching we would love islanders to think of the many animals in our care.”

“We have had a record breaking year for hedgehogs and we are only a few away from breaking the 600 figure having come through the doors and we are in desperate need of heat pads and intensive care units for them, not to mention butchers which is one of our preferred diet options.”

“We have a full cattery also so if you would like to sponsor an animal in a pen you can do this as a gift, for your family or for you.”

“We will stop rehoming officially from the 15th December but for those homes suitable for pets that are ideal and not as a Christmas surprise we will consider but pets aren’t presents and are for life so we would recommend those looking for a pet to ensure it is the right time for all involved.”

“A major project we currently have is the much needed Wildlife Hospital and ou can ‘Buy A Brick’ to help this become a reality next year and get a gift pack for you or a loved one and to find out more please visit http://www.gspca.org.gg/sites/default/files/Buy%20a%20Brick%20Wildlife%20Hospital.pdf .”

“As mentioned what we really need are additional intensive care units and heat pads and you can buy these directly to help the hedgehogs by visiting our Amazon Wishlist page via https://amzn.to/2sdP9KA or donate to help purchase them by going to https://bit.ly/33neEpC or even donate to their general care by going to https://bit.ly/2OjWQrm .”

“There are so many to help us help wildlife in Guernsey even when you do your online shopping this Christmas such as signing up for Easyfundraising which is a link that helps online shopping companies donate a small amount from each purchase from places like Amazon, Flybe, Expedia and many other companies and to sign up please visit https://bit.ly/2OKjCYv.”

“From needing new intensive care units to supporting the new Wildlife Hospital we have many wishes at the GSPCA, but our greatest need is that to help the hedgehogs, but you can see many wishes and the plans for the GSPCA you can see by visiting http://www.gspca.org.gg/about/our-plans-wish-list .”

“To find out more or discuss how you, your group or business could support the GSPCA you can pop in to the Shelter in St Andrews, call 01481 257261 or email me [email protected] as we love chatting to those that wish to support our vital work.”
