HUGE Thank You Treevolution for Coming to the GSPCA's Rescue

The GSPCA would like to say a huge thank you to the incredible team at Treevolution Professional Services for their outstanding support following damage caused by Storm Austin this morning.

At approximately 6.30am, a fallen tree caused significant disruption after bringing down the GSPCA's Sure fibre internet and telephone line, creating challenges for our busy 24/7 animal welfare operations. With the severe weather already resulting in wildlife casualties being reported across the Island, maintaining communications is vital for animals and people needing our help.

After sharing the situation and appealing for assistance, we were overwhelmed by the number of Islanders and local companies who quickly got in touch offering support. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contacted us.

A special mention must go to Treevolution Professional Services, who responded immediately. Within an hour of our appeal, their fantastic team were on site assessing the situation and getting to work. By before 9am, the fallen tree had been safely cleared, allowing access for further works and helping us to move one step closer to restoring normal services.

As if their rapid response was not enough, the team have also kindly agreed to donate the woodchip from the works, which will be put to excellent use within the shelter's animal enclosures.

GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne said:

"We cannot thank the amazing team at Treevolution Professional Services enough. When the tree came down and took out our communications early this morning, we knew it was going to be a challenge, especially with the severe weather conditions and the increased number of wildlife casualties we are already seeing. Their response was simply incredible. Within an hour they were on site and before 9am the tree had been cleared. To then generously donate the woodchip for our animal enclosures is just another example of their kindness and community spirit.

We would also like to thank the many Islanders and businesses who contacted us offering help and support. It has been heart-warming to see so many people wanting to assist. Thanks to these efforts, Sure have been able to access and assess the damaged telegraph pole, although repairs are still ongoing. We also have another amazing company to thank, which we will be highlighting in our next update."

Despite the challenges, the GSPCA remains available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for animal emergencies.

If you need assistance, please contact the GSPCA on 01481 257261.

With the horrendous weather conditions, we are already seeing an increase in wildlife casualties and appreciate the community's continued support.
