Huge thanks to Ronez Donating Three Tonnes of Stone Dust to Help Improve GSPCA Pathways

The GSPCA would like to extend a huge thank you to Ronez for kindly donating three tonnes of stone dust, along with free delivery, to help improve pathways around the charity's animal shelter and grounds.

As work continues across the GSPCA site, including major redevelopment projects and improvements to visitor and animal facilities, the stone dust will play an important role in completing pathway upgrades that make it easier for visitors, dog walkers, volunteers and staff to move around the grounds throughout the year.

GSPCA Training and Community Officer Tim Pellet got in touch with the team at Ronez as the charity continues to develop and enhance access routes around its fields and outdoor areas.

The pathway project has already benefited from generous support from the Co-op, which donated funding towards specialist ground matting. Volunteers from a variety of community groups, including Guernsey Raiders, staff from Howdens and many other supporters, have helped lay the matting across key areas of the site.

The latest donation from Ronez will now help complete the final sections of the project, including pathways around the Wildlife Pond and near the stables.

Tim Pellet, GSPCA Training and Community Officer, said:

"We are incredibly grateful to Ronez for donating three tonnes of stone dust and arranging delivery free of charge. Their support will help us complete some important pathway improvements that will benefit everyone who visits, volunteers or works at the GSPCA. The team at Ronez are always so helpful and willing to support local charities, and we cannot thank them enough for their kindness."

Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager, added:

"A huge thank you to everyone at Ronez for this generous donation. We are extremely busy at present with a wide range of projects happening across the site, and support like this makes a real difference. The team at Ronez are always incredibly kind and do what they can to help support us whenever possible. Community support is essential to helping us continue improving facilities for the animals and people who rely on our services."

The donation comes at a particularly busy time for the charity. Work continues on the GSPCA's ambitious #GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal, with the Breton team constructing the foundations for the new Wildlife Hospital and kennels. At the same time, Kennelbuild are carrying out significant improvements to the existing kennels and cattery, alongside numerous other projects taking place throughout the shelter.

The GSPCA continues to appeal for support as work progresses on improving its facilities and building for the future. Those wishing to help can view the charity's plans and current wish list at:

Every donation, gift in kind, volunteer hour and act of support helps the GSPCA continue caring for thousands of animals each year while creating improved facilities for generations to come.

The GSPCA would like to sincerely thank everyone at Ronez for their generosity and ongoing support of animal welfare in Guernsey.
