Quote from Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager
“We are incredibly grateful to Corinne and the entire Sidneys Sponsored Events team for organising yet another fantastic fundraiser. With only around 50 tickets left, we encourage everyone to get theirs soon and join us for an evening full of spirit, celebration and remembrance.
Let’s party like it’s 1945 and honour Guernsey’s Liberation Day on its 81st anniversary, raising vital funds for those who have served through SSAFA, and for the animals who played such an important role and also suffered during times of conflict. Events like this make a real difference, and we’re extremely thankful for the continued support.
With our #GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal and big build more than half way through this event will help raise crucial funds for this much needed facility as well as our 24/7 work which didn’t stop during the occupation and contributed to awful challenges to animal welfare during a time where everyone suffered in Guernsey.”
Supporting Those Who Served – People & Animals
Funds raised will be shared between SSAFA, supporting armed forces personnel and veterans, and the GSPCA, which continues to care for animals in need across Guernsey. Liberation Day serves as an important reminder not only of the human sacrifices made but also the crucial roles animals played throughout history.
#GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal Update
The GSPCA Wildlife Hospital, part of the #GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal, continues to progress impressively. The west wing roof trusses are now complete, giving a striking preview of the future facility, and the east wing roof trusses are scheduled to begin very soon.
With the project now at its halfway point, the GSPCA is encouraging supporters to join the appeal by:
Every contribution supports the future of wildlife rescue in Guernsey for generations to come.
