On Tuesday 12th September 2023 all 60 Puffins from the Guernsey Puffin Parade for the first time were all in one place in their glory.

After an epic undertaking by all involved in putting together the Guernsey Puffin Parade all 60 Puffins were put on display at St Pierre Park Hotel ahead of the auction.

The day saw 1000’s of islanders and tourists visiting the 60 puffins and also donating and purchasing Puffin Parade raffle tickets and tickets to attend the auction.

The auction saw hundreds of islanders attend with John Randall from BBC Guernsey doing an incredible job.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “The Guernsey Puffin Parade has been such an incredible event for both the GSPCA and Autism Guernsey with the GSPCA celebrating 150 years and Autism Guernsey celebrating 10 years, what an incredible way to celebrate with all that has taken place with the Guernsey Puffin Parade.”

“There are so many to thank and despite being a long day from getting them all in place to the auction we really couldn’t believe how amazing we have been supported.”

“Seeing all 60 in one place was so amazing.”

“John Randall was an incredible auctioneer and not only did we sell out tickets for the event we managed thanks to  St Pierre Park fit a few extras in.”

“From £700 to £3500 nearly all went for over £1000 making just short of £100,000 in the auction alone with funds being raised in many other ways from the raffle to the quiz and we are planning a calendar with the best pictures for 2024.”

Mandy Rowlinson from Autism Guernsey said “WOOHOO £98,200 raised at the puffin auction tonight. Thank you so much John Randall for doing such a fantastic job as auctioneer, together with all the volunteers who helped to make this evening a great success.”

Steve continued “Again a massive thanks to all involved and supported the Guernsey Puffin Parade.”

“All the raffle prize, quiz and app winners will be contacted and the many Puffins will all be collected by tomorrow lunch time and hopefully we will see many around the island for years to come.”

“We had commission bids as far as England but all we believe will be staying within the Bailiwick and the funds raised will help do so much for both charities.”

“I’m sure there will be more to come but one final thank you for now and please do contact GSPCA or Autism Guernsey if you can support us in any way, thank you.”

"One final note if anyone would like to make a donation of £1,800 that would make the donation total £100,00, but no matter the total thank you so so much to all involved as it has been an absolutely fantastic community event and has show cased the incredible community we have here in Guernsey."
