From Puppy Pads to a New Wildlife Hospital – Every Gift Makes a Difference to the GSPCA from their Wish List
The GSPCA is reminding islanders that there are many ways to help the animals and wildlife in its care through the charity's online Wish List pages, whether supporting the charity's biggest ever building project or providing essential day-to-day supplies for rescued animals and birds.
The GSPCA's Our Plans & Wish List page highlights a wide variety of needs, ranging from replacement animal ambulances, solar panels, IT equipment, and laundry facilities through to animal food, cleaning products, towels, and other everyday essentials. The charity also operates an Amazon Wish List, allowing supporters to purchase items directly for animals in care.
As work continues on the #GSPCABiggestBuild Appeal, the charity has now reached approximately halfway towards its overall target but still needs to raise a further £2 million to help complete its vision for the future, including the new Wildlife Hospital and other much-needed facilities.
Whilst major donations are vital to helping complete the biggest project in the charity's history, the GSPCA is keen to remind supporters that smaller gifts are equally important. Every year the charity cares for thousands of animals, from orphaned baby birds needing puppy pads and specialist care, to injured wildlife, unwanted pets, dogs, cats, rabbits, hedgehogs and many more. New washers and dryers for the developing facilities, equipment for animal care areas, and support towards a replacement animal ambulance are all examples of items that can make a huge difference.
GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne said:
"People often think they have to make a huge donation to make a difference, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Whether it's buying puppy pads for baby birds, a bag of animal food, helping with equipment for our new facilities, supporting a washer or dryer for the build, or contributing towards a new animal ambulance, every gift helps us care for animals in need."
"The GSPCA's Wish Lists show the incredible range of items and projects we need support with. At one end there are everyday essentials costing just a few pounds, while at the other there is the #GSPCABiggestBuild Appeal which still needs a further £2 million to complete."
"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported us so far. The community has helped us get halfway towards making these once-in-a-generation facilities a reality, but we still need help to get over the finish line."
