Today the OSA Pop Up Shop in Smith Street, St Peter Port will be manned by a variety of charities and one of the themes is animals as part of volunteers week.
We will have information on hand and hopefully representatives between 10am and 2pm and also 5pm and 7pm.
If you are interested in helping animals in Guernsey then there are many roles and ways you can get involved with the GSPCA, so please pop down or you can call the Shelter on 01481 257261 for details.
Around the clock volunteers in Guernsey are helping animals whether at the GSPCA or other animal charities.
Every single night of the year a volunteer helps ensure that at the GSPCA we can provide around the clock emergency cover.
The volunteers that make up this fantastic group come from all walks of the community and help ensure every night between 6pm until 8am the next someone can go out to rescue an animal in need.
Matt Hill-Smith and Jen Bradshaw are two of our volunteer wardens and help cover on average two nights a week.
Only 2 days to get your entries in for the GSPCA Hedgehog Competition.
Sarah Ozanne Animal Care Assistant said 'We've had some fantastic entries for our GSPCA Hedgehog Competitions but we would love to see a few more.'
'We have a hedgehog awareness poster competition and one for making a hedgehog home.'
'You have until Friday to get your entries in and we will be announcing the winners soon as well as a date when we will be running a hedgehog talk.'
The GSPCA are always thankful to those that help raise funds for the Shelter no matter how small or large.
Recently GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne was invited along to the AFM office in St Sampsons to receive a donation that the staff had raised.
Spring is always a busy time at the GSPCA with many baby birds, hedgehogs waking, young animals being born and many animals coming through the doors.
On Friday last week the GSPCA were pleased to welcome 11 staff from Northern Trust who gave their day to help the team at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
The GSPCA are overwhelmed by the success of this weekends Car Boot Sale that was organised and run by the staff at Insurance Corporation.
The team from Insurance Corporation decided that as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility they would like to help organise an event and raise funds for a cause close their hearts.
After an operation to remove a lump from his throat and an overnight stay Nouska the Husky is back at the Animal Shelter and doing well.
The lump which was found after Nouska was signed over to the Shelter has now been removed and he is on pain relief, antibiotics and a special food to help his recovery.
We have sent the lump away to be diagnosed and will hopefully no longer cause Nouska and more issues.
