It is customary for each intake of probationary student officers to arrange a charity event to raise money for a charity of their choosing. This is not compulsory but is embraced by most Student Officer Intakes as a way to go out into the community that they are preparing to ultimately Police.
Guernsey Police Student Officers Class 1 of 2014 have chosen the GSPCA as their charity of choice.
Their chosen event is a half island walk. Anyone who wishes to join them for any part of the walk is more than welcome, and your furry friends are welcome too.
Due to demand during the first and second week of the Easter term at the GSPCA we will be running a series of open days.
During the two weeks we will have bric-a-brac to new goods on sale as well as refreshments, including hot drinks.
All going on in the Event and Training Room.
We are also arranging guided tours at 10.45am, 2pm and 3.20pm on certain days. We are asking for a minimum donation of £5 per person and £3 per child, or £15 for a family of four.

In April 2014 Daz Carre will be running the Marathon Des Sables, a 155 mile run through the Sahara Desert which takes place in 100 degree temperatures. This is pretty extreme.
He'll be doing this for the Specsavers Children's Charity and the GSPCA and The Tav has decided to help him out in his fund raising efforts by throwing a party for him - after all, we might not see him again!
During half term why not pop up to the GSPCA Animal Shelter between 10.30am and 4.30pm for a drink, snacks, see some of the animals at the Shelter and browse our new and donated goods on sale.
Did you know we now have an online shop? Click here to visit it.
We have many animals looking for homes and some of the hamsters, rabbits, birds and maybe even a ferret or two will be in the room for visitors to see.
On Saturday between 2 and 6pm local photographer Lisa Wright spent a very busy afternoon taking pictures of the many dogs that arrived for their Pet Portraits followed by their owners at the GSPCA Animal Shelter in St Andrews this weekend.
A very popular afternoon was had and the many that attended the Animal Shelter were able to pick up some Christmas gifts and goodies for pets and loved ones.
On Saturday November 23rd and Saturday 30th there will be a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a fun photo shoot with your beloved pets and family to raise money for the GSPCA.
Pegasus Photography has kindly donated these two afternoons with 100% profit going to the GSPCA, while providing mini photo sessions at the shelter for you and your favourite pets.
