The GSPCA would like to thank everyone that has been supporting our Tuesday bric-a-brac and coffee mornings as well as our open days.
So we can continue doing these at the Shelter and to help with other events we are appealing for additional bric-a-brac, games, books, clothes and other charity shop items to help raise funds to help rescue and care for animals in Guernsey.
Many of us are having a Spring clean so when you do yours please think of the Animal Shelter and how your unwanted items can make a difference to animals lives.
Monday 25th March to the 31st March 2013 is the second GSPCA Cupcake Week here in Guernsey.
Can you make/bake & sell cupcakes to raise money for the GSPCA? By doing so you would be helping many injured and abandoned animals.
Why not get baking, organise a cupcake sale or coffee morning, or if you're a business maybe sell some on the day and make a percentage to go the GSPCA.
On Saturday the 9th March the GSPCA will be holding a bric-a-brac sale, coffee morning and guided tours due to demand.
A number of islanders have been asking that we hold a weekend event to enable them to have a look around and see the two seal pups through the one way glass before they are released back to the wild next month.
The day will start at 9.15am with the first tour being at 9.30am. We are asking for a minimum donation of £5 per person for the tour and we require at least one adult per 6 children.
Tomorrow is not only Valentines day but also the GSPCA is celebrating 140 years caring for animals in Guernsey.
Since being founded in 1873 we have helped care for, rescue, rehabilitate, reunite, release and rehome hundreds of thousands of animals and birds from domestic to wildlife, farm to working and our core beliefs of education and promoting animal welfare are as strong now as they were all those years ago.
All next week during GSPCA Purple Week, a week to celebrate 140 years caring for animals in Guernsey the GSPCA will be holding an event at the Animal Shelter where we have been based since 1929.
Monday to Friday between 10am and 12pm the GSPCA will be holding a Coffee Morning and Bric-A-Brac sale at the Shelter in our event and training room.
The GSPCA are pleased to announce our GSPCA Sunday Family Fun Lunch.
Tables are on sale now and it will be held on the 3rd March 2013 from 12pm at Les Rocquettes Hotel.
Tables are of 10 and per person it is £19 each to enjoy an afternoon with 4 courses that you can choose on the day.
There's lots planned for both adults and children from a tombola to raffle. Each table will have the chance to win one of our gold prizes and everyone being a winner. (If you have a prize you would like to donate to the raffle please do get in touch.)
The GSPCA are pleased to announce that the Link Centre staff and students will be continuing the Tuesday coffee mornings with bric-a-brac and pet supplies every Tuesday during term time at the GSPCA Animal Shelter between 10.30am and 12pm.
The students have been helping raise funds at the Animal Shelter and if you have time to spare on a Tuesday morning please pop in to say hello and support them.
Next month the GSPCA will be celebrating 140 years caring for animals in Guernsey and we are appealing for pictures or video clips of the work during our 84 years at our current address or even the early 1900's or late 1800's that anyone that may have.
We have a very good record of our history back until the late 1920's but very few pictures.
Our records include annual reports back to 1929 and even a visitor book from the 1970's with some lovely signatories.
The GSPCA was founded in 1873 and to help celebrate 140 years caring for animals in Guernsey we are asking for your help.
There are many ways you, your school, group, work place, business can help celebrate.
The GSPCA week starts 11th February and celebrations will carry on until the 17th with our anniversary being Valentines Day the 14th February.
