The UK gov.uk have issued this information -
'The UK’s Chief Veterinary Officer has confirmed H5N8 avian flu in a flock of turkeys at a farm in East Lindsey, Lincolnshire.
This follows confirmation of the disease in a flock of turkeys on a nearby farm on 16 December 2016. There is unlikely to be a direct link to the previous case but a full investigation is under way to confirm this.
Yesterday the first Channel Island grey seal pup was rescued of 2017.
Found at Petit Pot in Jersey the young seal pup at only 18kgs so extremely thin with a number of injuries was rescued by the British Diver Marine Life Rescue volunteers and cared for overnight at New Era Vets in Jersey.
This morning the young seal pup was transported with BDMLR Marine Mammal Medic Caroline Stockhill to Guernsey and is now at the GSPCA Wildlife Rehabilitation unit in the seal intensive care room and is next to Sami the seal pup who was rescued in Jersey just after Christmas.
The GSPCA are currently looking for a staff members to help with our increasingly busy front desk and develop our charity shop area.
We are also looking for an additional casual animal care assistant to help meet the needs of the Shelter.
All roles are to help cover 7 days a week and especially on weekends and bank holidays when the GSPCA is often extremely busy.
We have a team of 20 staff and over 600 volunteers and without the whole team we couldn't help the 3000+ animals that come through the doors every year, care for the many boarders and achieve so much.
Last Sunday GSPCA Warden Suzy Rose was called out to a very poorly large seabird.
The bird was identified as a comorant and staff were concerned for its health due to line possibly attached to a hook inside the bird so it was taken to Isabelle Vets.
The bird was examined by Vet Ben Howitt who decided to x-ray the cormorant that the GSPCA staff has named 'Lady in Black'.
The x-ray clearly showed a hook inside Lady in Black and so the bird needed 5 days worth of care and a little luck to help her back to the wild.

The GSPCA was founded in 1873 and this February to help celebrate 144 years caring for animals in Guernsey we are asking for your help.
There are many ways you, your school, group, work place, business can help celebrate.
The GSPCA week starts 10th February and celebrations will carry on until the 17th with our anniversary being Valentines Day the 14th February.
Ideas to get involved.......
With cold weather on the way the GSPCA want pet owners to consider all the animals of Guernsey.
During a cold snap the GSPCA are on full alert, ready to deal with a variety of animals affected by the low temperatures.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "With the coming cold snap and possible snow on its way, at the GSPCA we want to ensure pets and other animals kept and live outside are safe and have all they need."
On Thursday we held the first volunteer induction of 2017 at the GSPCA and saw a packed room of 21 new helpers keen to learn how they can get involved with us here at the Animal Shelter.
The induction took place just after 6.30pm with GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne talking to the group about who we are, what we do, the ways volunteers can help and an induction of how to help safely.
GSPCA staff member Gilly McClean was also there to help and chat to the group of new volunteers aged from 13 years upwards.
We are pleased to announce that Sami the seal pup rescued in jersey between Christmas and New Years has started eating fish all on her own.
She is extremely thin so it will take months before she is strong enough to release to the wild and it would be wonderful if you could help donate to her care to help towards the fish she will need as well as help the hundreds of other animals in our care.
We will of course keep you up to date with her progress.
