On Friday we welcome guests & Build Partners for our Exclusive Build Handover Ceremony

On Friday we welcome our Exclusive Build Partners to the second ceremony of our new multi purpose animal welfare building.

With the finishing touches being completed to the biggest project we have ever undertaken, the GSPCA have invited some of our key supporters and Build Partners that are part of our biggest rebuild in our 142 year history.

The Digital Greenhouse is excited to announce the Summer of Innovation Competition - Do you have an idea?

SUMMER OF INNOVATION COMPETITION – ENTRIES NOW OPEN

This is a fantastic opportunity for businesses, the public and students to work together to find a digital solution for a business or social need in Guernsey.

Set over the summer the competition will require the entrants to identify an issue, put together a team and work on a solution to be submitted to the judges on Friday 4th September.

Maybe you have an idea that could help the GSPCA or animals in Guernsey?

For example how about working towards a data base of all dogs and cats microchipped in Guernsey?

Looking to do something during your Summer holidays? Volunteer inductions at the GSPCA Monday 20th & 27th July at 3pm

This week many schools break up and many already have.

If you are 14 years or over, have you thought of helping animals during your Summer break?

Our next Volunteer Induction at the GSPCA is on Monday 20th July at 3pm.

All ages are welcome, but to help on site with the animals you have to be 14 years old or over.

Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal care Assistant said "We have a wonderful team of volunteers that help us at the GSPCA and we always love to welcome those wanting to help."

Guided tours during July and August at the GSPCA

During the school breaks we are running a series of guided tours at the GSPCA.

This is your opportunity to visit behind the scenes at our Animal Shelter in St Andrews and see the work being carried out for the new build.

We are arranging guided tours on a series of dates at 2pm.  

We ask for a minimum donation of £5 per person and £3 per child, or £15 for a family of four.  

The tours take around 80 minutes and you get to see in many of the departments and a variety of species.

Tours are a maximum of 15 people per tour, so please book early.

Bastille Day Bingo postponed - Next GSPCA Fun Bingo night is now Wednesday 16th September Mexican Independence Day Bingo

We are afraid to announce we will be postponing the Bastille Bingo tomorrow night at the Market Bistro.

We apologise and have informed those that were planning to come along.

We plan to have our next bingo event at the Market Bistro on Wednesday 16th September with a Mexican Independence theme.

For only £14.50 for adults you get 8 games of bingo and your meal which is a buffet style half way through the evening.

Alliance establishes itself as the largest EU network of dog and cat welfare organisations

On the 9th July, the EU Dog & Cat Alliance welcomed its 50th member organisation – the Argos Animal Welfare Society from Greece. The Alliance now represents 50 dog and cat welfare organisations from 17 EU Member States.

St Andrews Floral Group Going Wild at the GSPCA

St Andrew’s Floral Group has been working with the GSPCA to develop the area around their existing pond to create an area for everyone to enjoy the lovely peaceful setting of the Animal Shelter and provide a better natural haven for wildlife.

You can now report your lost pet online at the GSPCA 24/7

At the GSPCA we help thousands of lost and found pets every year.

Each year 200 dogs stray are rescued and brought into the GSPCA, and over 500 cats that are stray or involved in an accident, not to mention everything from parrots to tortoise, snakes to hamsters and many more.

To help speed up the process of reporting your pet lost and so that you can now report the your pet missing 24 hours 7 days a week you can now complete a lost report online which automatically goes onto our system.
