With the 5th November only two weeks away it is time to consider the pets in your household.
Every year during periods when fireworks are used many animals across Guernsey can become distressed and there are a number of precautions you can take to help ensure that you help settle your pets.

Although in Guernsey we seem to be well into Autumn young animals are still being found.
Only in the last few days a very young feral kitten has been found in the Admiral Park area.
The 10 week old male kitten which was found late on Friday night was full of worms and fleas and is extremely timid and nervous.
Habitat loss and the threat of extinction are significant concerns in the world of reptillian life.
Reptile Day promotes awareness of all things reptillian, encouraging learning about different types of reptiles, their natural environments and ecological challenges.
At the GSPCA we rescue, reunite, rehabilitate and rehome reptiles of all descriptions.
In the last year we have seen snakes to tortoise, turtle to lizards, terrapins and others some of which have been wild and others captive.
Only last week the Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtle Movie was released.
At the GSPCA we feel education has a huge part to play in the world we live and knowing what to do whether helping at the GSPCA, at home or in your work place is extremely important.
This Wednesday we have a Volunteer Induction Evening. If you are interested in helping the GSPCA then we ask for you to pop along at 6.30pm to find out about the GSPCA and a short safety induction. The evening takes around 90 minutes and is at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
On sale at the GSPCA we have a new range of bugs.
You may have seen over the summer the dog, cat and rabbit bugs with GSPCA details on the tail. We now have a new range for only £1 each at the GSPCA reception.
The new bugs include a new colour dog, bat, penguin, owl, cow, pig, horse, duck and new bunny design.
If you would like to pick up one of the new bugs from the GSPCA shop then it is open 9am until 5pm Monday to Saturday, closed all day Sunday.
They will also be on sale at many of our events.
Many children will be very excited about the release of Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
As fantastic as many of these films can be for Animal Welfare Organisations they can cause all sorts of problems.
From 101 Dalmatians to the Chipmunks, Lassie to Toto from the Wizard of Oz there are many films and programmes that have influenced people to impluse adopt or buy species and breeds of animals.
Today is Feral Cat Day and we are appealing for special homes for some of our special cats.
We have 5 cats that the team at the GSPCA would love to find a forever home but need that special owner.
