Last month two baby guinea pigs arrived at the GSPCA after a lady who was gifted a female guinea pig was found to be pregnant and asked for our help.
The two lovely little bundles of cuteness were named Choc Chip and Panda and after a short stay at the GSPCA were quickly found a loving new home.
Were have just been sent this message from the lovely new owner "You may remember us as Choc Chip and Panda the tiny baby guineas, but we have had a little name change to Billy and Clive."
Yesterday GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne welcomed Guernsey Disability Alliance ED Karen Blanchford to the Shelter in St Andrews.
The GSPCA are always looking at ways to improve the facilities at the Shelter and to improve the opportunities for the community as well as the animals needing our care and help.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said "It was wonderful to meet and show Karen from GDA around yesterday and discuss ideas of how we can work together and benefit the community."
We were recently over joyed to get an update on Jack and Luli who was Jill, two cats that were adopted as kittens in the Summer of 2012.
Born at the Shelter from their mother Darwina a stray cat brought to the Shelter in the Spring of 2012 they were adopted and moved to live with Patti Bret in Alderney that Summer.
Anna Paint Senior Animal Care Assistant and head of the cattery said "We always love to get updates of the cats we have rehomed and hat a wonderful gift at Christmas to see how two of the kittens born at the Shelter are doing 4 years on."
Earlier this month a team of staff from Specsavers spent the day helping St Andrews Floral Group volunteers at the GSPCA.
Over the last few years we have received many groups from Specsavers helping at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews from animal care to maintenance.

At the GSPCA we are awaiting to hear on any local guidance from the Guernsey States Vet in the light of Avian Flu in Europe.
The Christmas lottery jackpot is getting ever closer to a possible £1 million jackpot and do you have your tickets.
The GSPCA are once again selling the Christmas Lottery Tickets at our reception desk 9am - 5pm Monday to Saturday and this year 11am to 4pm on Sundays.
Like last year the top prize increases with ticket sales and in 2015 we saw a £1.16M jackpot
With a second prize of £100,000, third prize £25,000 and Fourth prize made up of 10 prizes of £1,000 the 2016 draw will take place on Tuesday 20 December.
