Did you know today the 25th April is World Penguin Awareness Day?
Although we do not have any penguins living in Guernsey on September the 15th the GSPCA will be organising the second Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday where you will see giant penguins and many other animals racing along the sea front.
Although many details are not yet confirmed we are taking forms to reserve your pitch and interest in the Giant Animal Mascot Race.
Only one day to go to the big event......
After 2 weeks we caught Slygo earlier this week and to help celebrate and also raise funds for the GSPCA and the many animals in our care we are asking you to join us tomorrow night.
Introducing 2Xtreme – much more impressive than your regular male/female duo! 2Xtreme is not just a duo, it’s a complete show!
The GSPCA deals with thousands of lost and found reports of animals every year.
To help those that have lost or found a pet the GSPCA now have a page dedicated to many of the contacts and advice you may need.
The page includes links to web sites, useful telephone numbers and advice on what to do.

The plan the GSPCA have in place is working well and we are aware of much of his movements, but we do urge people not to actively go out to look for him or feed him as this will affect the safe capture of Slygo the very nervous, timid stray terrier.
With the mild weather settling in and the weight of the two seal pups now at the recommended release level the GSPCA are planning to get Jethou Bumblebee and Hanois back to the wild next week.
Jethou Bumblebee who was rescued from Jethou towards the end of last year and Hanois who was rescued from Pleinmont back in January would have both perished if it had not been for caring public reporting them to the Animal Shelter and the quick response in rescuing them.
Too many Easter Eggs? Why not make the 2013 Itex Rotary walk part of your get fit regime!
The walk has now become one of Guernsey's key fund raising events for local charities and attracts several hundred participants every year determined to complete the nearly forty mile route.
2013 is the sixteenth year that the walk has been held and each year significant sums of money have been raised. In 2012 the walk raised nearly £52,000 and with your help we will hit a similar level this year.
