At the GSPCA we have been helping animals around the clock for over 150 years.
We have incredible support thanks to our amazing team of volunteers and so many groups and companies that volunteer to help the GSPCA and the vast range of work we carry out 24/7.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “This week we celebrate GSPCA Purple Week and moving from 150 into 151 years and as part of the celebrations we have a Volunteer Induction Evening at 630pm on Tuesday 13th February 2024.”
At the GSPCA we always love to hear from those wanting to help us out and there are so many ways from volunteering to donating, supporting projects to attending our events.
On Tuesday 14th November 5 staff members from RBS gave up a day in the office to help us out at the GSPCA and after the recent storm damage we are hugely grateful to all that have helped.
GSPCA team member Tim Pellett greeted them and helped coordinate what was a very busy day.

Last night we held our last Volunteer Induction of 2023.
Despite the dark cold night 5 ladies attended the GSPCA and are all set to start over the next ten days.
Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “It was wonderful to meet the 5 ladies that attended our GSPCA Volunteer Induction Evening last night.”
“It was very dark at 630pm when they arrived bt they all seemed to have a wonderful time and are all starting over the coming days.”
At the GSPCA we have been helping animals around the clock for over 150 years.
For the last 50 years we have had an incredible team of volunteers that help ensure our Animal Ambulance is manned between 6pm and 8am 7 days a week.
We are currently recruiting for an Animal Ambulance Warden for either Wednesday or Monday nights and if you are interested please call 25721, pop in or email steve@gspca.org.gg .

From the Committee to those that walk dogs, fund raisers to those that help with admin, gardeners to those helping with IT, the companies who send their staff to help to so many others the list goes on and on.
With the GSPCA providing 24/7 we couldn’t do so much without our amazing team.

Last Wednesday the GSPCA have had a wonderful group of 7 staff volunteering from the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).
Their team arrived at 9am and were greeted by Training and Community Officer Tim Pellet and helped in many areas around the GSPCA Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
Tim Pellett GSPCA Community and Training Officer said “It was great to greet, meet and get the lovely team from RBS helping around the GSPCA last Wednesday.”
“They were a great help and helped in the wedding and tidying around the GSPCA and spruced up our Memorial Garden.”

Last night we welcomed two new team members who came along to our Volunteer Induction Evening.
Both are planning to help with dog walking and we are very much looking forward getting them started.
