From the Committee to those that walk dogs, fund raisers to those that help with admin, gardeners to those helping with IT, the companies who send their staff to help to so many others the list goes on and on.
With the GSPCA providing 24/7 we couldn’t do so much without our amazing team.

Last night the GSPCA held the 5th Volunteer Induction Evening of 2023.
11 new faces joined us for an induction where they were greeted by team member Sarah Harrison and then they got to meet GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne for their induction.
The GSPCA really could do so much without its amazing team of volunteers and supporters which have helped for over 150 years.

Friday 19th May a team of staff from PwC once again spent a day volunteering at the GSPCA.
9 PwC staff arrived at 9am to be greeted by Tim Pellett the GSPCA Training and Community Officer.
They started with a lovely picture at the front of the Animal Shelter before they began a day of helping around site doing a huge amount.
Through the day they learnt about much of our work and met many of the team and finished with a tour of the site to see the many animals and much of our work.

In recent years with all the challenges our volunteers have really been on the frontline and especially our GSPCA Animal Ambulance Wardens and we cannot thank them enough.
Last Friday the GSPCA have had a wonderful group of 11 staff volunteering from Collas Crill.
Their team arrived at lunch time and helped in many areas over the afternoon at the Animal Shelter in St Andrews.
Tim Pellett GSPCA Community and Training Officer said “It was great to greet, meet and get the lovely team from Collas Crill helping around the GSPCA last Friday.”
“They’ve been a great help and helped in the cattery, kennels, gardening and hospital area.”
“We also gave them a tour to see behind the scenes and talk to them about our work.”
We celebrate our 150 year history this year and we couldn’t do so much without our incredible team of staff, volunteers and supporters.
Last night at the GSPCA we held our third volunteer induction evening of 2023.

“Team member Sarah Harrison greeted the 4 attendees who arrived at 630pm where they had an induction which was followed by a chat with GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne.”

This Wednesday we hold our third volunteer induction evening of 2023.
The volunteer age for inductions is now from 16 years and up and we have opportunities in all parts of our activities here at the GSPCA.
From helping with our busy ambulance service to walking dogs, our full cattery to our packed rabbit and small animal department, over 100 hedgehogs to over 30 reptiles, gardening to helping on reception.
This month we celebrate 150 years with GSPCA Purple Month and without volunteers we would have never of been founded.
On 11th February, 1873, a meeting was convened in the rooms of the Societe Guernesiaise “for the purpose of considering the expediency of establishing in the Island a Societe for the suppression of Cruelty to Animals” and the Dean of Guernsey was called to the Chair. The Patron of the Society was His Excellency Lt. General Froome.
This month we celebrate 150 years with GSPCA Purple Month and without volunteers we would have never of been founded.
