On Wednesday the 18th July a group of students from Les Beacamps High Year 10 organised a biathlon to raise funds for the GSPCA Animal Shelter.

Andrew Wilkinson and friends Kieran Torode, Josh Tucker and Sam Le Ray departed on bike from Vale Church and rode to the Imperial Hotel.  They then walked the rest of the way to Jerbourg Point.

They left at 10am on the Wednesday got to their final destination around 3pm.

The 4 students raised a grand total of £188 and the GSPCA wish to thank them for their fantastic effort and every penny will help care for animals in Guernsey.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said 'The GSPCA have been helping care for animals in the Bailiwick for 139 years and it's through caring individuals like these young men that ensure we can continue rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming animals in Guernsey.'

'If anyone would like to get involved in raising funds for the Shelter all they have to do is get in touch or check out our fund raising page on our web site.'

'Our next sponsored event staff and volunteers are doing will be the Christmas Day Polar Bear Swim and we welcome any one who would like to join in to please get in touch.'

'We wish to say a huge thank you to Kieran, Andrew, Josh and Sam it was a long route and they did well.'
