At the GSPCA we currently have a number of tortoise in need of homes.
We are looking for experienced tortoise owners who have a home to suit the needs of each of those looking for their forever home.
Yvonne Chauvel Senior Animal Care Assistant said “From cockerels to a Caribbean hermit crab you’d be surprised the animals in need of homes at the GSPCA.”
“We currently have a number of tortoises that are looking for homes who have come into our care for a variety of reasons.”
“We really would like experienced homes for our shelled friends.”
“The first step in the process in adopting from the GSPCA is to complete an adoption form if you are interested.”

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We have a number of resident tortoise that live on site for various reasons, but we now have a few which are looking for their forever homes.”
“With so many animals in need of homes from ferrets to rabbits, degus to a snake, cockerels to cats, dogs to a bearded dragon, tortoise to cockatiels, with many more including Tamatoa the hermit crab we would love to hear from those interesting in adopting a rescue animal from the GSPCA.”
“As Yvonne mentioned you need to complete an adoption questionnaire and once the team has reviewed the form the heads of the section department can make an appointment if we have an animal suitable.”
“Each animal is different from the elderly cats with medical needs to those cruelly treated and we strive to ensure each home is a great fit for the family and the animal or animals so they can all live happily ever after.”
“With reptiles such as tortoise they really need very specialist care which is why we ideally would like homes with experience, especially with their hibernation time approaching.”
