  • Choking

  • And much more

Every attendee receives:

???? Essential Training for Owners and Professionals

These courses are not only invaluable for pet owners — they are increasingly important for those working in the animal care sector. With the new animal business licensing requirements being rolled out by the States of Guernsey this year, many professionals such as:

  • Pet boarding businesses
  • Home‑boarders
  • Pet sitters
  • Dog walkers

…will be required to demonstrate knowledge of emergency first aid as part of meeting licensing standards.

Completing our first aid training with the GSPCA is a proactive way to prepare for these upcoming regulations and ensure the highest standard of care for animals in your business.

Quote from GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne

GSPCA Manager Steve Byrne, who will be leading each session, said:

“Every year we see emergencies that could have had very different outcomes if someone on the scene had known what to do in those first vital moments. These courses are designed to give people the confidence and skills to help their pets — or animals in their care — should the unexpected happen. With new licensing requirements on the way for animal‑related businesses in Guernsey, now is the perfect time for owners and professionals to gain this essential knowledge.”

#GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal Update

The GSPCA Wildlife Hospital, part of the #GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal, continues to progress impressively. The west wing roof trusses are now complete, giving a striking preview of the future facility, and the east wing roof trusses are scheduled to begin very soon.

With the project now at its halfway point, the GSPCA is encouraging supporters to join the appeal by:

  • Donating to the Build Fund
  • Sponsoring a room, kennel, aviary, or specialised unit
  • Supporting sustainability upgrades, including planned solar panel installations
  • Taking part in events or community fundraising
  • Leaving a gift or message of support via giving.gg

Every contribution supports the future of wildlife rescue in Guernsey for generations to come.
