Last Thursday nearly 60 children from Vale Primary School visited the GSPCA for a guided tour and to learn about the animals at the Shelter.

GSPCA Training and Community Officer was on hand to greet the many children off the many buses who then enjoyed seeing and learning about many of the animals with the team at the GSPCA.

Tim said “We had a wonderful time showing the children from Vale Primary School the GSPCA and many of the animals in our care.”

“From dogs in our care to some of the hedgehogs they all seemed to enjoy their visit and learnt a lot from the GSPCA team.”

Juliet Bell Foundation Stage Leader from Vale Primary School said “We just wanted to thank you to the GSPCA team, especially Tim for the fantastic visit.”

“The children had a wonderful time and haven’t stopped talking about the animals they saw and got to touch.”

“Thank you again for allowing us to bring the children so that they can learn how important it is to care for animals.”

“The tour was pitched it so well for Year Reception children.“

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “A huge thanks to Vale Primary School for visiting last week the team really enjoyed showing them around and one of the core objectives of the GSPCA is education and we love to do this in hand with showing visitors around our site in St Andrews.”

“For any schools wanting to visit please email [email protected] or call us on 257261 and we can fit you in.”

“Some areas of the Shelter are open 7 days a week between 11am and 4pm and we also run guided tours during the school holidays, not forgetting the special and birthday tours we can do on request.”
