Volunteers Needed for GSPCA Seafront Sunday with less than two weeks to go and Charities Seafront Sunday 17th May
The Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) and for the 17th May Association of Guernsey Charities (AGC) is appealing for volunteers to help support two of the busiest and most important fundraising events of the year, with GSPCA Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday taking place in under two weeks on the 3rd May, followed by the Charities Seafront Sunday on Saturday 17th May.
Both events attract thousands of islanders and visitors, with hundreds of stalls, activities for all ages, multiple stages, live entertainment, a fun dog show and much more, making them flagship dates in the Guernsey events calendar.
The GSPCA and AGC is seeking volunteers to help on stalls and with event arrangements on the day. Any time offered, whether for a few hours or the full day, would make a huge difference to the charity and its ability to raise vital funds for animal welfare.
GSPCA Manager and Association of Guernsey Charities (AGC) Director Steve Byrne said:
“These two Seafront Sundays are among the biggest and most important days in the GSPCA and AGC calendars. With so much happening – from stalls and entertainment to the fun dog show – we simply can’t run these events without volunteers. We would be incredibly grateful to anyone who can spare some time to help us on the day.”
He added:
“We are also reminding any remaining stallholders who wish to take part to please book their pitch as soon as possible. With only weeks to go, spaces are filling fast.”

The GSPCA and AGC encourage the community to get involved, whether by volunteering, taking a stall, or simply attending and enjoying a fantastic day out while supporting local charities and animal welfare.
#GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal Update
The GSPCA Wildlife Hospital, part of the #GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal, continues to progress impressively. The west wing roof trusses are now complete, giving a striking preview of the future facility, and the east wing roof trusses are scheduled to begin very soon.
With the project now at its halfway point, the GSPCA is encouraging supporters to join the appeal by:
- Donating to the Build Fund
- Sponsoring a room, kennel, aviary, or specialised unit
- Supporting sustainability upgrades, including planned solar panel installations
- Taking part in events or community fundraising
- Leaving a gift or message of support via giving.gg
Every contribution supports the future of wildlife rescue in Guernsey for generations to come.
