WMS Donates Pallet Truck to the GSPCA to Help Move Vital Supplies

The GSPCA is delighted to announce that WMS ( www.wms.gg  has kindly donated a pallet truck to support the day‑to‑day operations at the Shelter. This generous gift is already making a huge difference, enabling staff and volunteers to safely and efficiently move heavy supplies such as animal feed, bedding, hay, cat litter, and other essential goods across the busy site.

With more than 3,000 animals cared for every year and an ever‑growing demand for food, equipment, and welfare materials, the pallet truck has provided an immediate boost to the charity’s logistics and welfare operations.

A Welcome Boost for the GSPCA Team

Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager, said:

“We are incredibly grateful to the wonderful team at WMS for this extremely generous donation. The pallet truck is already proving invaluable. We move enormous amounts of supplies around the Shelter every single day, and having the right equipment makes all the difference. A huge thank you to WMS for helping make our work that little bit easier and supporting the animals in our care.”

Tim Pellett, GSPCA Training & Community Officer, added:

“The new pallet truck has been fantastic. It’s made transporting bulk deliveries so much safer and more efficient, which saves us time and reduces the physical strain on our staff and volunteers. We rely heavily on practical support like this, and we’re extremely appreciative of WMS for thinking of us.”

The donation was warmly received by the GSPCA team, who regularly handle large quantities of animal feed, cat litter, cleaning supplies, enrichment items, and building materials across the site.

WMS Delighted to Support the GSPCA

Kirsty Pengelley, WMS Office Administrator, said:
“On behalf of WMS it’s an absolute pleasure for the pallet truck to be of great help.”

The GSPCA works hard every day to provide care, rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming for thousands of animals. Donations like this help the team maximise their resources and continue delivering essential services throughout the island.

Supporting the GSPCA – Wish Lists and Appeals

Alongside practical donations such as equipment, the GSPCA has a range of Wish Lists available to make it easy for the community to support the charity in whichever way suits them best.

Current Top Funding Needs

The GSPCA is also fundraising for several major projects and essential improvements:

  • #GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal – raising £2,000,000 to complete the redevelopment of the shelter. Construction is already halfway through, but further funds are urgently needed to finish the new facilities. For more info please go to https://www.gspca.org.gg/blog/gspca-biggestbuild-begins-demolition-underway-%E2%80%93-buying-brick-sponsorship-can-you-help
  • New IT System – £12,000 – replacing outdated equipment to improve administration, communication, and record‑keeping across all departments.
  • Solar Panels for the New Wildlife Hospital – £50,000 – a vital green‑energy investment that will save the charity over £1,000 a month in energy costs and significantly reduce the shelter’s carbon footprint.

Whether contributing to the Big Build, helping purchase new IT equipment, supporting renewable energy, or donating bowls and toys from the Amazon Wish List, every act of kindness helps the GSPCA continue its mission of caring for animals in need.
