Last week Guy Hardill undertook a challenge that 7 weeks ago would have been nothing other than a fantasy.

He decided to take on the Havelet Bay Open Sea Swim Challenge having never swam in open sea up until 5 weeks before the challenge.

This amazing swim which took him an amazing 55 minutes, much quicker than he hoped for was in aid of a new GSPCA Animal Ambulance.

You can still donate to Guys Challenge and to help towards buying a new Animal Ambulance by going to https://giving.gg/donate/event/5898/Round-Havelet-Swim

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We cannot thank Guy and everyone enough for their support towards his swim and donations towards the new much needed Animal Ambulance.”

“We have had such kind words and also amazing donations online, over the phone and through the post.”

"Despite the difficult days we cannot thank everyone enough for their kindness."

"Guy was hoping to raise £2000 towards the appeal and he has betean his expectations by over £1000, with £3100 donated so far to our £15,000 appeal which is incredible."

Steve continued “We sadly now have two vehicles with issues and we are in touch with local garages to see how they can support our 24/7 365 day work.”

“If you can help with supporting us in any way from animal ambulances to bowls, rebuild projects to fish for the seals we would love to hear from you.”

“We are still working to essential visitors only at the GSPCA and advise to call before attending site so you are aware of our procedures.”
