#GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal Update: Exciting Progress Across the Site
There has been plenty of activity at the GSPCA over the past week as work continues on the charity's ambitious #GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal.
Last week saw one of the most significant milestones yet in the new kennel project, with the main concrete pour for the kennel foundations taking place. The site was extremely busy as contractors, suppliers and construction teams worked together to complete this major stage of the build. At the same time, fitting out of the new Wildlife Hospital continues at pace, bringing the first purpose-built wildlife hospital in the Channel Islands ever closer to opening.
The progress being made across the site is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Breton, contractors, suppliers, supporters and all those involved in making these vital facilities a reality for the animals of Guernsey.
To celebrate how far the project has come, the GSPCA is planning a special event next month to showcase the progress of the build and thank those who have helped make it possible.

"The progress being made on the #GSPCABiggestBuildAppeal is incredible to see. Last week's main concrete pour for the kennel foundations was a major milestone and means we are another huge step closer to providing much-needed facilities for the animals in our care.
"Alongside this, the Wildlife Hospital continues to be fitted out and every week we can see the vision becoming a reality. We would like to thank Breton, all of the contractors, our supporters, donors and volunteers who have helped us get this far.

Naming Opportunities Available
As part of the appeal, the GSPCA is inviting businesses, organisations, families and community groups to sponsor areas of the new facilities.
Businesses wishing to sponsor a room, aviary, cage, kennel or pen can have the area named after their company, a loved one, family member, group or in memory of someone special.
These sponsorship opportunities not only help fund the project but leave a lasting legacy within the new facilities.
Solar Panel Appeal
The GSPCA is also seeking support to complete the installation of solar panels across the new development.
Thanks to generous support already received, £30,000 has been raised, but a further £30,000 is needed to complete the project. The solar installation will help reduce future energy costs and make the new facilities more environmentally sustainable.
Tortoise and Rabbit Enclosures
Another important project is the replacement of the ageing outdoor tortoise and rabbit enclosures.
The charity is seeking £10,000 to create improved outdoor accommodation for these animals, ensuring modern welfare standards can be maintained for years to come.
Animal Ambulance Appeal
Alongside the build projects, the GSPCA urgently needs to replace two essential animal ambulances.
These vehicles are used daily to rescue injured wildlife, transport sick and injured animals, assist stranded animals and respond to welfare emergencies around the Bailiwick.

Wildlife Hospital
The new Wildlife Hospital will be the first facility of its kind in the Channel Islands and will help the more than 3,000 wild animals that come through the GSPCA's doors every year.
Current residents include a common seal pup, over 100 wild birds, hedgehogs, wild rabbits and many other casualties requiring specialist care and rehabilitation.

Small Animal, Reptile and Bird Unit
The Small Animal Unit is now complete and already making a huge difference to the hundreds of rabbits, guinea pigs, reptiles, birds and other small animals helped by the GSPCA each year.
