On Sunday 100’s of islanders celebrated the end of lockdown for the whole Bailiwick, and the #guernseytogether spirit.

On Sunday there was a FREE family friendly event (with donations to charity) to showcase what an array of fantastic talent and produce we have in Guernsey.

The organisers kindly supported a number of local charities including the GSPCA and it was lovely to see everyone at Government House.

The GSPCA was there with our stall promoting our work and raising much needed funds. An amazing £880 was raised and a lot of fun was had.

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “What a wonderful day we had on Sunday at the Bailiwick Big Day Out.”

“With so much to do, 1000’s of visitors and supporters and a glorious day we managed to raise a much needed and amazing £880 for the many animals and our work at the GSPCA.”

“A huge thanks to all involved and supported this wonderful day and we have been informed there is also a share from the proceeds to top up the fab amount already raised.”

“We have lots of other events coming up including the Lions Club Guernsey Together Celebrates on Saturday 22nd August 2020, the Motor Seafront Sunday on the 23rd August 2020 and our biggest event of the year the GSPCA Animal Welfare Seafront Sunday on the 13th September 2020.”

“All the events we need volunteers to help and if anyone would like to give a few hours or even all day please do get in touch.”

“Events like this help raise the much needed funds to continue our 24/7 work and if you missed the event you can still support us through our #GSPCACoronavirusCrisisAppeal by donating online via - https://giving.gg/donate/event/5876/GSPCA-Coronavirus-Emergency-Appeal calling 257261 or at the Shelter in St Andrews.”
