It is truly incredible when we are hear of those taking on a personal challenge to raise funds for the GSPCA and the work we carry out 24/7 helping thousands of animals every year.

Kim Polls on the 21st of June should have been running the Guernsey Half Marathon and she has said  “On the 21st June I should be running the Butterfield half marathon, but due to Covid-19 it has been postponed.”

“I however, will still be running the 13.1 course, albeit on my own.”

“The reason for this??  When Covid-19 hit Guernsey it changed lives.  It changed the Pols family's lives forever.”

“Losing Gran was one of the hardest things I have had to deal with.”

“Gran loved animals so the GSPCA was an easy choice for me charity wise.”

“Please give what you can to this incredible local charity.”

“Thank you”

Steve Byrne GSPCA Manager said “We cannot thank Kim enough for undertaking this run in aid of the GSPCA.”

“Despite the Guernsey Half Marathon being cancelled on the 21st June, Kim will still run the 13.1 miles which will be in memory of her Gran who loved animals and so she has decided to raise funds for our work at the GSPCA where we have over 300 in our care currently.”

“The Coronavirus Pandemic has put huge pressures on us here at the GSPCA as our shops have closed, we have only emergency boarders and nearly all of our fund raising events have had to be cancelled other than those virtual ones we have created.”

“With running costs of £2000 a day raising the funds to keep the Shelter going is a daily challenge and without kind supporters like Kim and those that donate we could carry out our vital work around the clock.”

“Please do donate to Kim’s challenge who is helping ensure we can raise funds for the many animals in our care during these difficult days.”

“If you would like to take on your own personal challenge to raise funds for the GSPCA please do get in touch or set up your fundraising page on www.giving.gg or https://www.justgiving.com/gspca .”
